Past, Present, Future Present Chris Leone's genuine vocals lead a rotating cast of musical ringers through a wide catalogue of classic country, western swing and cowboy music (think Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Bob Wills.) With a core group of dedicated musicians and an ever expanding network of hotshot instrumentalists, Chris Leone and the Spurs of the Moment have been performing at a variety of venues all over the continent since 2000. As a three, four, five, six or more piece, the Spurs of the Moment have consistently hit the mark with a wide variety of audiences--from roadhouses to coffee houses, at festivals and brew pubs, on steam trains and horse ranches, for seniors and chil'ren, in prisons, around town and across the nation.
Past The Spurs of the Moment were started by Chris Leone's father, Carmen Leone in Youngstown, Ohio in the mid 1980's. Chris Leone performed with that rendition (and still does when he can) in the Midwest before relocating to the Bay Area in 1999, and forming the West Coast edition of the Spurs of the Moment. Chris Leone continues to play many of the classic country tunes passed down from his father, and is always adding to his repertoire. The western edition of the Spurs of the Moment has performed under a variety of names before settling back into Spurdom. You may have heard or seen a performance under a previous incarnation as Music Night, Roundin' Home, the Gingham Wranglers, or the Merry Corners.
